The Association has submitted a request to the Councillor for Commerce, Augusto Gil, for a meeting to discuss a number of points of concern the Association, its members, and local business in general:
Points: 1. To request the use of a room for Association meetings. 2. To find out the status of the project to build a footbridge connecting Marina de Casares and Sabinillas. This is seen as a priority by local business not just for tourism but also from a commercial point of view, bring in clients from Casares Costa. 3. The elimination of all political posters still remaining a year after the local elections, and the cleaning of locales and facades on the corner of Calle Benalmadena and Avenida de Manilva as these create a poor image for visitors. Removal of all posters, bullfights, concerts, especially in the urban centres, etc. 4. Sunday Market. Prior notice of cancellation due to events such as the Romeria, motorcycle rally, concerts, etc., so that visitors can be advised in advance. 5. Opening Licences. 6. Town Hall debts with suppliers. Arrange for some of these to be offset against local taxes, such as IBI, opening licences, etc. 7. Security. A request from members for more visible police foot patrols particularly in areas such as the Paseo Maritimo, Puerto de la Duquesa, etc. Eliminaton of ‘problem areas’ on the Paseo of which all local retailers are aware, but of which no action has been taken. 8. Events on the Paseo Maritimo. 9. To offer the services of Acemce to the Commerce department for consultation, collaboration and assistance in commercial activities. 10. Economic assistance from the Commercial department for a quarterly magazine or local business guide to be distributed locally from house to house. 11. A parking strategy to be drawn up including signage, etc. 12. Translation of all business related news and documentation into English. 13. Other proposals. This presentation, requests a meeting with you in your capacity as Commerce Councillor to discuss these points. |
